Everyone has been trying to convince you to go out and find artificial Christmas trees but why should you? The truth is that there are many benefits to buying a fake tree, here are just a few:
I disagree with this tip unfortunately. Lets Go through these bullets one by one shall we?
LT - Artificial trees eliminate the hassle of having to go out and find that perfect tree and hack it down.
Actually if you want to avoid any hassle you can purchase real tree online nowadays. Type in "fresh Christmas tree" into google and you'll find several companies that will ship a super fresh and fragrant tree to you for a reasonable price.
LT - Artificial trees will not drop pine needles all over your floor nor will they have to be watered.
This is true however they do not contain a fragrance other than that of the PVC and lead that they are made from.
LT - Artificial trees may cost more initially but they will last years—this will save you bundles of cash.
Studies have shown that the typical artificial tree is discarded before seven years of ownership. Thus these fake trees end up leeching toxic substances into and filling up our landfills. Real trees can and mostly are recycled. If you were to buy an average real tree for 5 years in a row it would equal the price of a fake one.
LT - Artificial Christmas trees are a synch to put up and take down so you can put them up earlier than real trees and keep them up a lot longer.
Actually if you buy a farm fresh mail order tree it will last many weeks as long you keep it watered. And is it really that hard to setup a Christmas tree anyways?
LT - Artificial trees are far less of fire hazard as they do not contain real needles that can burn easily.
This is completely false. Real Christmas trees that are reasonably taken care of are no less or more dangerous then a fake tree. Actually if you have a truly fresh tree the water content inherent to the tree would make it less of a fire hazard then a fake tree.
