December 22, 2006, Newsletter Issue #44: Edible Decorations

Tip of the Week

Christmas trees are beautiful works of art that serve as a blank slate for your creative holiday decorating ideas. Instead of opting for traditional decorating methods, how about adorning your tree with decorations that look good enough to eat…and are. Break out the cookie cutters and create festive sugar cookies for your tree.

Next, using bright food coloring, create vibrant frostings to paint them with. Finally, hang them from the tree using ribbon. Want some more tantalizing ideas? Make garland out of gumdrops, they're inexpensive and brightly colored. In addition, they're durable enough to survive the stringing process. Additionally, dangle rainbow candy canes from the boughs.

*Word to the wise: Keep hungry children away from this tree!
